Afanis Naftis beach is about six kilometres outside the town of Chios on the road to Daskalopetra. It has been named by the statue dedicated to the mariners that have been lost in the sea. Nearby is a statue created by the sculptor Thanasis Apartis.The small beach has small pebbles and lies a little bit further to the north. If you dont want to drive far from the town the Afanis Naftis beach, as well as other nearby beaches are ideal for a quick swim. For the lovers of windsurfing it is also a nice choice when north winds blow.
